Azul y Garanza, Garnacha Tinta, ‘Naturaleza Salvaje Garnacha’

Low intervention wine from the arid Spanish region of Navarra, Rioja’s unrenowned (overlooked?) neighbour to the north east. Fermented and aged in concrete, this is an unfiltered elegant red from low yielding old vines. Made without the use of oak, which allowing the cherry and cassis fruit flavours to come through.

Ripe, but not overpowering at 12.5%, this is a real treat for Garnacha Tinta / Grenache Noir fans. Soft enough to sip by itself, it could partner harissa and cous cous, firm cheeses like Manchego, or spicy cured meats.
