Spätburgunder is the German name for Pinot Noir; literally, it means ‘late Burgundian’ – ripening after the other (apparent) Burgundians, Weißburgunder and Grauburgunder.

The exceptionally warm 2018 vintage adds surprising weight and body to this biodynamic wine from the Rheinhessen, in central Germany.

Expect ripe strawberry and raspberry fruit flavours, a slightly spicy black pepper finish, hints of vanilla from oak barrel ageing, and distinctive Pinot earthiness.
